Shey Phoksundo Lake is a high altitude lake located in the Dolpa district of Nepal. It is considered as one of the most beautiful and pristine lakes in Nepal, and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and lush forests. The lake is situated at an altitude of around 3,611 meters, and is considered as one of the highest lakes in Nepal.
The Shey Phoksundo Lake trek is considered moderate to difficult and takes around 10-12 days to complete. The trek starts from Juphal and takes trekkers through beautiful forests, traditional villages, and terraced fields. Along the way, trekkers will have the opportunity to explore the local culture and traditions of the Dolpa region, which is considered as one of the most remote and isolated areas in Nepal.
The best time to trek to Shey Phoksundo Lake is from September to November and from March to May, when the weather is most favorable, and the skies are usually clear.
